We are happy to announce the 2008
McFarland Family Festival is happening this year! The dates are September
26-28, 2008, which coincide with the high school's Homecoming
week.
The Festival Board has been hard at
work since last year's event making plans and lining up participants to
make this year's Festival a success. We are excited to announce that Wisconsin
& Southern Railroad Company will be providing round-trip
train rides
between McFarland and Madison on Saturday, September 27!
The Festival Board is seeking broad
support from McFarland residents of all ages to come meet each other and
help celebrate who we are as a community. Many volunteers are
needed to help plan and carry out dozens of activities. The need is
greater this year due to the railroad rides so please contact the
Festival office as soon a possible if you can offer assistance.
The Family Festival was started in 1985
by what was then the McFarland Business Association (later to become the
Chamber of Commerce). It was a way for them to show appreciation to the
community. When the Festival outgrew its Chamber sponsorship, the
not-for-profit McFarland Family Festival, Inc. was created in 2003 to
continue the event.
